House which I bought in Mysore

This is the house which I recently bought in Jayalakshmipuram, Mysore.

Its an old house & not very modern. I bought it mainly for its location (its one of the best locations in Mysore) & the site dimension (80 feet x 40 feet ). If I happen to shift my base to Mysore in future (might be in another 10 years) I will either do some alteration work on this house or build a new house on this site.

My house is located very near (less than 1 KM towards North West) to the famous Kukkarahalli Lake of Mysore. Click here to see Kukkarahalli Lake on Google EarthKukkarahalli_Lake_Mysore.kmz

I would any time prefer to live in a house which is independent & has got good space for gardening than to apartments. People from other cities(esp. from Bangalore) appreciate houses in Mysore because they have lot of space for gardening. (This is an old house having gardening space in the back of the house unlike the modern houses which have garden in front of the house).

This time Christmas was celebrated in a nice manner at my company. The whole company premises has been decorated. A nice troop of young singers along with a Santa went all around our company singing & created a Christmas environment. After that everyone in my company were offered cake & wine!

One more innovative thing happened at my company. Everyone of us were supposed to pick a chit out of a box. Each chit contains name & employee number of one employee of our company. The person whose name is on the chit which I choose will be my angel! I have to deliver a gift to him. I gifted  the hot selling book by Chetan Bhagat, One Night at the Call Center to my angel.

A great weekend in Bandipur Forest and the Blue Lagoon Island

[This article has photos]
I had a great weekend this time. When the weekend started I had no idea what was in store for me!

It looked like the continuous rain which has hit Bangalore badly this year has finally stopped. So, I decided that this weekend I am going to Mysore on Bike instead of train (which I started using after the rainy season started).

Saturday morning I got up early & the weather was looking great. I zoomed towards Mysore on my RX. On the way to Mysore I it suddenly occurred to me that it has been quite sometime that my old friend Natraj got posted to Gundlupet near Mysore. He has been inviting me to Gundlupet from the time he got posted there. This time I decided that I am going to give him a visit. After a short halt in Mysore, I went to Gundlupet on my bike.

If you want to buy a book on some particular topic and want to find out the best books in that topic, internet can be very helpful in finding out the right book for you.

Try these steps for searching books:

amazon.com (The best place to do research on books)

  1. Go to http://books.amazon.com
  2. Click on the Advanced Search link on the top left of the screen
  3. Enter your search criteria.
  4. There is a drop-down called Sort Results by. By default it is set to ‘Relevance‘. I generally use ‘Bestselling‘ (to know about the most popular books) and ‘Avg. Customer Review‘ (to know about the best rated books).

An evening with Prem Joshua, the great musician

[This article has a photo]
Prem Joshua has been my favorite musician from past few years, from the time I got introduced to his music. The depth in his music is incredible. A.R. Rehman has also been one of my favorite musicians but I rate Prem Joshua above him. I have seen various people (like TV channels) use his music as background music (of course, without his permission). He is pretty famous in western countries & I am sure he will become famous in India very soon. He is in fact pretty famous amongst people who are interested in spirituality in India.

You would believe it or not, yesterday (08/Dec/2005) I had the chance of meeting this great musician!

I have been using Firefox browser from Mozilla from sometime. It beats Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) on many counts and I feel this is the best browser available today. It is free and its open source!
