Mark places on WikiMapia
I might be a bit late on this. Wiki has come up with a new project. WikiMapia. This is powered by Google.
Few things about WikiMapia (in their own words!)
WikiMapia is a project to describe the whole planet Earth.
Wikimapia was created by Alexandre Koriakine and Evgeniy Saveliev, inspired by Google maps and Wikipedia.
In this one can add interesting places which you know about which is not already mapped in WikiMapia! Do mark places of public interest & not places of personal interest (like your house!).
I have marked a few places. One is Blue Lagoon island. It can be found here http://www.wikimapia.org/#y=12421489&x=76553078&z=14&l=0&m=a
My college guys have done a good job in mapping our college NITK, Surathkal.
I would have wanted to mark lot of places in Mysore. For some reason, the major parts of Mysoref [Including Mysore Palace & well my house 
] have not been givn in Close-up! Major regions in and around Mysore (including many small towns and villages) are given in Close-up, but Mysore city is not in Close-up! Need to check with Google about it.
Well, go ahead and mark places!

Even I checked and found that the major block of Mysore is not in a good enough resolution. Dont know why. Is it that there is some Defence Organisation or something?
And what is the marking of the places that you are talking about. Are these the markings on our local
systems or the markings we can do in the Google Servers?
I feel that the information about KREC itself was a bit
too much on Wikimapia. It is OK to have as good a resolution as you want, but mapping the blocks withing our college campus could be dangerous, right?

Well you feel that too much information on WikiMapia can be dangerous? I think in this information age, we can’t avoid it. We have to live up with it.
